Regarding this article: yeah… we’re fucked. Technology isn’t going to magically save us, and DAC can’t scale anywhere close to what we need. It’s still worth reducing carbon/methane emissions as much as possible since every little 0.1 deg C makes it that much worse, so to any doomers (and API/Exxon astroturf bots) we still need to take action to remove Big Oil as an industry.

I see what you’re saying, but there’s such a learned helplessness with the general public. They would rather make a tiktok, reddit, etc. post to ask really basic questions instead of a 5 second google. The interesting part comes from what info you’re looking for and if it can be monetized and you need personal answers, but that’s a very wide spectrum. You didn’t say you wanted an insider’s personal take, just broadcasts, protocol, proceedings, and conclusions.

COP30 is Nov 10-21. The initial Climate Action Summit is Nov 6-7, and just google it honestly (not to be too cranky, but seriously in 2025 you should be able to search info for yourself). Who reads any article these days? Only total losers and bozos read anything more than the headline.

I wouldn’t put it past Google to help censor for Israel, but there’s a very real chance that these videos may have just violated whatever obtuse terms they have, maybe something with gore/violence? I don’t know.
