Saudi Arabia tends to have a tradition of ambitious projects that fail due to various reasons.
It was too ambitious and the economy wasn’t able to make it happen. Still other projects such as Riyadh Metro were successful.
I was being recruited on to work on that project and I worked with some engineers who ended up working on it.
