I actually like the hexbears for the most part
It’s the snowflake libertarians who get all bent out of shape when they get called out by a plurality of leftists after chirping about their supposed freedom and they start crying on the timeline about how illegal that should be that gets me
the hilarity of the cooking and mealprep community doing “content warnings” for literal food is always a good source of laughter.
Hexbear is explicitly pro-vegan, and takes care to make it a space where you can avoid seeing meat consumption if you wish. That’s why there are CWs for meat.
I’m not a vegan but it is very annoying how much I still see vegan hate on lemmy. For a place that’s generally pretty mature, it’s lame to see how many people get mad at the thought of other people not wanting to eat dead animals.
Lemmy is filled with people who are newly radicalized or generally progressive, but haven’t really confronted their internal biases yet.
That’s a fair point. I’m sure most of the vegan haters will come around eventually assuming they have empathy as a core part of who they are.
Usually confronting your biases takes a catalyst, you don’t just do true passive introspection without prompting.
They’re not libertarians. They’re tankies cosplaying as libertarians.
He didn’t call Hexbears, libertarians, comrade; he said he prefers them over libertarians.
Hexbears have disdain for libertarians[1], so we certainly don’t pretend to be them.
Libertarian can have broad definitions, but in this context I’m referring to right-libertarians, aka anarcho-capitalists, which is the dominant type of self-identified libertarian on the Anglosphere internet ↩︎
Sorry, I’ve been working six days straight and my brain isn’t functioning to its usual standard, which is already pretty low to start with…
We’ve all been there
