To be fair, ‘scientific studies’ are increasingly less reliable, so quoting them as ‘facts’ has less weight. It used to be that any average person could look at an abstract and have a good enough idea to accept what the study found as fact. In 2025 this is less so, because you can’t just read the abstract. You also need to read the methodology and ideally who financed the study, since half the studies published are manipulated.

Not that it makes a great difference, but still.

In a few years Microsoft will just release Windows 12, with most of these AI features removed. Maybe they’ll do some user friendly tweaks too, but just a few. And most of Windows refugees will come back, praising Microsoft for listening to the community. Meanwhile there’ll be even more spyware and even less user control over the OS, but the vast majority will never notice that. That’s all it takes.

As much as all of us may hate it - it’s true. The only scenario in which democracy functions is one where all, or at the very least the majority of voters make their own decisions, based on objective information. This is not the case.

While it’s always great to contribute, no matter how little, we cannot deny reality here. Your vote is welcome and appreciated, but the truth is it won’t change anything. Voting only gets you so far when the vast majority of people are brainwashed and just pick whatever their media outlet of ‘choice’ tells them to pick.

At this point, they’re just rage baiting and saying random shit to squeeze that bubble before it bursts.

Two things especially worth noting from the article.

If you have a non-Google build of Android on your phone, none of this applies.

This means that at least GrapheneOS will be unaffected for now. Other ROMs without gapps will be unaffected only as long as you don’t install gapps. Since Graphene has a sandbox for them, I’m assuming it’ll be fine. That is, unless Google decides to lock the bootloader entirely.

In September 2026, Google plans to launch this feature in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. The next step is still hazy, but Google is targeting 2027 to expand the verification requirements globally.

So most users worldwide still have at least 1.5 years until it’s implemented. Plenty of time to get a Pixel and install Graphene on it. Or to figure out some other plan.

Don’t get me wrong - this is insane, unreasonable and horrible news for everyone. We should push back as hard as physically possible against it. However, at the very least we still have some time to figure things out before the policy rolls out.
