It’s disturbing how many single women put on their dating profiles how much they hate small talk. Like, how else do you get to know somebody?

There is a movie called Good Will Hunting, where the janitor (Matt Daemon) is a math prodigy and befriends a professor (Robin Williams).
This comic is a role reversal of that movie.
I like @fartographer@lemmy.world’s better. 😊
Back in… (counts on fingers)… early 90s… I used to take typewriter classes in Junior High, and we would do ascii art right before holiday breaks.

The ONE time I hoped the Internet didn’t lie to me. 😢
When I was in the 8th grade, I distinctly remember one day getting off the bus and making my way to homeroom, and a thought occurred to me: “I still have four more years of school before I graduate. I’ll never make it!”
I’m typing this approximately 35 years later. I never did make it through high school; I dropped out three times (the third time the school asked that I not come back). Ironically, I graduated with my masters last year.
~Talk about a wild ride.~
Well down the rabbit hole I now go. At least it’s not expensive. 😅
I mean aside of the variable name, this is not entirely unreasonable.

1·5 months agoNo, but if Musk and Zuckerberg has taught us anything, there are plenty of engineers who are willing to sell out humanity for fascism. No one is safe, and we should not trust random networks just because it’s “activist controlled”.

0·5 months agoTo be fair, given what lengths the police will go to messing with protesters, would anybody trust some random mesh network?

Counseling is the way to go. It’s going to take a lot of time, a lot of opening up, and being honest with your counselor and yourself. Don’t expect to see results immediately. You will get frustrated with the process. But you have to keep going.
Also, don’t be afraid to find a new counselor if your current one isn’t working for you. And only you will know what that means. But when you find the right one, it will make a huge difference for you.
At the same time, you may need to give your therapist multiple chances. What I mean by that is that you will not always see eye to eye with them. And that’s okay; especially if they’re challenging you to move past something big. But if you constantly feel something is off, then trust your gut. This is about what’s best for you.
I genuinely wish you the very best of luck.
