A horizontal cut is pretty easy. Usually it’s easier than the vertical cut. Sliding the knife between the meat and the liquidy toppings gets you a nice, smooth path through. Then just lift the cut portion away from the bottom portion, and enjoy your sandwich.*

I can definitely see why OP would stand by their statement about people who cut sandwiches horizontally.

It’s not really all that newfangled. It was part of the eurozone’s requirements for cars and was put in other places as well. I think that it’s approaching a decade now. My neighbor’s 2017 has it.

I think that knife needs to be used more effectively if all the pupils are to be replaced.
