To those who get upset with this post: bruh just talk to actual Ukrainians. You’ll discover many interesting things.

The funny part of propaganda is that it’s very often true - maybe exagerated but still true. People on the other side just ignore their own issues, so the truth has a shocking effect. But in actuality, if you dig deeper, you almost always end up realising both sides in every conflict do some horrible things and at the same time have good reasons for that. Because war is not about who’s right and who’s wrong, it’s about who’s gonna survive and who’s gonna become a slave or die.

    And I’m even not pro-Russian.

What’s your definition of propaganda? I’d like to invite you to spend some time in this thread thinking through why this article is, in your mind, so clearly propaganda that it’s not worth engaging with.

Of course, I can’t (and wouldn’t want to) force you to spend any time or mental effort thinking about this. But if you’d like someone to (kindly and calmly) ask you questions that could help you come to a deeper understanding of your thoughts about propaganda.

Because this piece seems, to me, interesting and worth reading and thinking about. I also don’t think that the two categories “news” and “propaganda” are totally disjoint, instead I think there’s a huge overlap, with most “news” being delivered as “propaganda”.

The article links to sources you’re probably more familiar with. Are Politico or The Sun propaganda too? How about Zelensky’s own account? The one where he posted a picture of himself hanging out with neo Nazis?

I’ve never seen someone consider the sun to be a reliable usable source of news before.

RT? Really? Russian propaganda machine posting an article defacing the leader of Ukraine who’s currently trying to get support against Russia’s occupation? That source?
